International Graduate course on "Forest Ecophysiology: from cells to ecosystems" will be offered in Katalapi Park from January 8-16, 2015

 The international course on “Forest Ecophysiology: from cells to ecosystems” will be offered from January 8.16 at Parque Katalapi, Región de Los Lagos, Chile. The course is organized by Luis J. Corcuera (Universidad de Concepción, Chile), Hans Lambers (UWA, Australia), Frida Piper (CIEP) and Aurora Gaxiola (IEB). Among invited lecturers are Juan Armesto (P. Universidad Católica de Chile), Marilyn Ball (Australian National University, Australia), Rafael Coopman (Universidad Austral de Chile), Günter Hoch (University of Basel, Switzerland), Rafael Oliveira (UNICAMP; Brazil), Bruce Osborne (University College Dublin, Ireland), Pablo Guerrero (Universidad de Concepción, Chile), Michael Shane (University of Western Australia, PIA-MEC 80140018), Alvaro Gutiérrez (Universidad Austral de Chile), and Matthew Turnbull (University of Canterbury, NZ). The activities of the course include lectures, seminars presented by students and the preparation of a research Project. The language of the course will be English. Those interested in the course must send their Curriculum vitae and the filled application form before October 31 2014. The instruction and forms to apply can be downloaded from the web site (www.parquekatalapi.cl). This is an official graduate level course from Universidad de Concepción. Those students that approve the course may receive a certificate from this institution.
